The Missus n' I (Shaved my head since then, though!)
The Missus n' I (Shaved my head since then, though!)

Greetings

I'm Marathi_Mulgaa. That is ofcourse, not my real name. If you're wondering, "What the heck does that name even mean", here's a little Marathi primer. Mulgaa = Boy (a status I've long since outgrown, eveidently). Marathi is my mother tongue. You see, I hail from Pune, in the Indian state of Maharashtra, once the capital of the mighty Maratha empire. The Marathi spoken here is said to be pure - Kind of, like the Mandarin spoken in Beijing or the Queen's English. That is, ofcourse, more than you can say about my own Marathi. :)

On Wikipedia: I am a voracious reader of history articles. As an editor, I edit articles at opposite ends of the the violence spectrum - I am an member of the military history project and the Indian military history task force- Love this stuff!!!! To a lesser extent, I also edit articles related to spirituality. The irony is that there's a lot more fighting happening at the spirituality end of that spectrum on Wikipedia. I always thought that Wikipedia was an expensive exercise in anarchy, where the loudest morons with the most time on their hands always got the last word. A good friend has recently proven me wrong, and I'm glad to say, I'm a believer in the concept and an aggressive editor again. I'm also no longer shy to speak my mind - I've learnt that it makes for a better finished product.

Off Wikipedia: I belong to a clan of warriors, called the Marathas. However, my fore-fathers did wander far from their Maharshtrian warrior roots. Great-Grandfather worked as the prime minister to the king of Udaipur, Rajasthan, Grandfather was a prominent government official in Vadodara, Gujrat, Dad was an electronics engineer in the earstwhile West Germany. Me, the (not-so-great) grandson? Currently making a living at a large silicon valley tech company!

I'm married to a brilliant, beautiful software engineer. She has about 20 times my IQ and a string of academic and professional achievements to show for it. She also makes the best Thai food this side of Thailand.

Anyways - You obviously aren't here because you're part of the Marathi_Mulgaa fan club - You're probably here because you want to talk to me.

So, do drop me a message and let me know if there's any way I can help. I am usually very reasonable, and no matter what your views, I look forward to working with you.
