The result of the proposal was move the page from "Market Street, San Francisco, California" to Market Street (San Francisco), per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 07:27, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

I propose that this page be moved to Market Street (San Francisco), as that is the naming format used for other S.F. streets. Eco84 | Talk 02:42, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Can we double-check not just on the streets but also buildings, neighborhoods, etc? I would have thought so, but more and more I'm seeing xxxxxxx, San Francisco, Califronia instead of xxxxxx (San Francisco). That's probably to fit a nationwide convention for cities that aren't as famous or uniquely named as SF. So we should be consistent. Nevertheless, I usually add an xxxxxxx or an xxxxxx (San Francisco) as a redirect.Wikidemo 02:52, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
As far as I was aware, the "xxxxx, San Francisco" format was mostly used for neighborhoods. I took a look at Category:Buildings and structures in San Francisco and only found three buildings using the comma format: Spreckels Building, San Francisco, California, Palace Hotel, San Francisco and Cliff House, San Francisco. Cliff House doesn't even need to be disambiguated; search for "Cliff House" and you're redirected to the aforementioned article. Many more use the parentheses format. There may be some discussion somewhere on the San Francisco Bay Area project pages, although those tend to be fairly quiet. If we were deciding this in isolation I think xxxxxx (San Francisco) is the best trade-off for clarity, trade-off, etc. But it doesn't work for many other cities, and I'm afraid of the wiki-fixers sweeping down on us at some point. I certainly have no objection to a move.... Wikidemo 17:34, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I support such a move. Since many SF street articles are using the parenthesis format like those in Category:Streets in San Francisco, California. But one thing is that some street articles just use the street name, without placing "(San Francisco)" within the names. If this move go through, shouldn't we move all those as well?
