Marie is significant in the womens movment in the early 1970's in Monterey County california as noted below. This page is just a start to be filled out over the next few months. It is important to record the history of the womens movement and it's local incarnations. Many of the early leaders are old enough now that they are dying and this rich history will be lost. Marie was one of the founders of the Womens Crisis Center in Salinas, Ca., was a founder of the National Organization for Women in Monterey, Ca and has won the Woman of the Year award in Monterey County California and is currently Deputy Director of Sun Street Centers in Salinas, Ca.
