Mark Davies (bishop)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mark Davies has been the Anglican Bishop of Middleton since 2008[1]and was, at the time of his appointment, the Church’s youngest Bishop[2]. Educated at the University of Leeds [3] he studied for ordination at the Community of the Resurrection at Mirfield before embarking on a curacy at Barnsley[4]. From 1995 until 2006 he was Rector of Hemsworth , and also in the latter part of his Incumbency Rural Dean of Pontefract. Since 2006 he had been Archdeacon of Rochdale[5]. This lead in turn to elevation to the Suffragan Bishopric of Middleton when Michael Owen was translated to the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf[6].
