Marcelo Tavares (born August 30, 1980) is a Brazilian football (soccer) defender playing in Saudi Premier League with Al-Hilal since 2004.

He is considered as one of the best central defenders in Saudi Premier League. Despite his defensive abilities, he has shown some excellent performance in scoring goals.
