[edit] Reduction

There is no need to reduce the size of the image here, as it is used entirely according to its copyright statement, which allows anyone to use the image. Wikipedia does not distinguish between images which are used under a "fair use" claim in United States law despite being under restrictive copyright laws (for example, album covers), and images which are free to use but which do not qualify as free images under Wikipedia's policies. We call all these images "fair use". To use a low-resolution image is necessary for such things as album covers because we need to make sure the image we present has negligible commercial value as part of the fair use claim, but this is not necessary for an image such as this one.-gadfium 19:56, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

It seems that no fair use case can possibly succeed, if the people in the photo are still alive. You have wasted my time and your own by suggesting that deletion of the image was open to discussion. I am disillusioned.-gadfium 03:34, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry that you disagreed with the assessment - you can argue for undeletion at deletion review if you like. Videmus Omnia Talk 03:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I also disagree with this assessment and think that Gadfium has made a compelling case. Tyrenius 04:17, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Then I recommend that this go to deletion review to get a clear consensus. Videmus Omnia Talk 04:28, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I have requested a deletion review. Comment may be added at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 August 23 gadfium 05:08, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
