Maple Town, known as Maple Town Stories (メイプルタウン物語 Maple Town Monogatari?) in Japan and Gúshi de Mapletown in Taiwan, is an anime series centering on the adventures of Patty Rabbit, Bobby Bear, and their families, in a small utopian anthropomorphic city. The program is best known through its collectible merchandising, with a variety of figurines with changeable clothing as well as houses, furniture, and vehicles; it can be well described as toyetic.
The show, or rather the English dub of it, prominently displayed traditional (Western) values. In the United States, each episode was prefaced with a live-action introduction by "Mrs. Maple" (Janice Adams), who delivered the moral of the episode. This live-action segment was created specifically for the English dub.
The entire series has been released on DVD in Spain. There are no plans however to release it on DVD on in any other countries.

Maple Town Monogatari tells the story of Patty Rabbit, a little rabbit-girl who has just arrived to Maple Town with her family. Soon after arriving, Patty befriends Bobby Bear, a boy her age, while at the same time antagonizing the sly--if usually "endearingly" unsuccessful--thief Wild Wolf.

[edit] New Maple Town Story - Palm Town Chapter
Maple Town Story had a second TV series (新メイプルタウン物語-パームタウン編 in Japan) that aired until December 1987 but was not released in the United States. At the end of the first TV series, Patty left for Palm Town with her Aunt Jane; this series picks up after that, with Patty living in Palm Town with Jane and her husband George, who run the Pika Clinic. The entire cast of the original series with the exception of Patty is absent, although they do make cameo appearances.
The series lasted for 50 episodes, the last 12 of which were actually 6 two-part episodes (resulting in the common incorrect tally of 44 episodes).
Assistant director: Kunihiko Ikuhara.
