Was Sousa walking along a beach in Manhattan, or was he walking along Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn? Checking the original source should help -- oh, wait; none is cited. I'm going to tag this assertion "citation needed".

There is a source now - it is referring to the beach in Manhattan that was developed into a resort by Austin Corbin. The Behnam 21:20, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
