Mandodari (Sanskrit: मंदोदरी) was the beautiful and pious daughter of the King of Danavas, Mayasura and the celestial dancer, Apsara Hema. She is best known as the Queen Consort of Ravana, the son of Rishi Vishrava and the demonic King of Lanka
She was the mother of Indrajit, who earned the name after defeating Indra, the King of the Devas.

She is one of the Pancha Kanyas in Hindu mythology, the others being Ahalya, Draupadi, Sita and Tara. The Pancha Kanyas are supposed to signify the Pancha Bootha or the five elements of Nature. Legend has it that all of an individual's sins are washed off simply by uttering the name of these Pancha Kanyas.
