[edit] Season
The season started with a new owner in Thaksin Shinawatra and a new manager in Sven-Göran Eriksson. After spending a large part of the season in the top five of the Premier League, they finished in ninth place. They also gained entry into the next seasons UEFA Cup by coming sixth in the English fair play league (the five teams above having already qualified for European competition). On 2nd June, Eriksson was sacked, and replaced two days later by Mark Hughes [1]
[edit] Team Kit
The team kit was produced by Le Coq Sportif and the shirt sponsor was Thomas Cook. On 10 February 2008 during their game against Manchester United they played in a one off special kit to mark the memorial of the Munich air disaster. The kit contained no kit maker or sponsor logos.
