The 2007-08 Malaysia Premier League season will have 14 teams battling out for promotion to the recently expanded Malaysia Super League. The teams are:-

• Malacca FA - relegated from Malaysia Super League 2007-08
• PKNS FC
• Johor FA (Johor PBT Pasir Gudang)
• Shahzan Muda FC
• Sabah FA
• Kuala Lumpur FA
• Kelantan FA
• ATM FA
• Kuala Muda Naza FC
• KL PLUS FC
• Young Tigers
• Proton FC - promoted from Malaysia FAM Cup 2007
• Felda United FC - promoted from Malaysia FAM Cup 2007

The Malaysia Premier League 2007-08 champion was Kuala Muda NAZA FC. They were promoted to Malaysia Super League 2008-09 along with runners-up KL PLUS FC.
