The 2007-08 Malaysia Premier League season will have 14 teams battling out for promotion to the recently expanded Malaysia Super League. The teams are:-

Proton FC - promoted from Malaysia FAM Cup 2007
Felda United FC - promoted from Malaysia FAM Cup 2007
The Malaysia Premier League 2007-08 champion was Kuala Muda NAZA FC. They were promoted to Malaysia Super League 2008-09 along with runners-up KL PLUS FC.
