[edit] Space before "°C"

According to the SI, "°C" is not an exception and there should be a space before : http://www.bipm.fr/utils/common/pdf/si_brochure_8_en.pdf Sarenne 20:30, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Then my stove is wrong! I would change it to Fahrenheit, which is correctly written without space (see its article), but I forget where I changed that other article of guidelines.--MajorHazard 20:38, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
OK, I found it, under "my contributions". Now I & somebody else change it so it says leave a space for C and K degrees, which are the ones related to SI, others are not related to SI, so don't follow that weird guideline. Who think of that? Probably same wacky guy who dreamt up meter, as one ten-thousandth of distance from earth pole to earth equator! Why not connected to distance to moon? Or Sun? Or Mars? Ha-ha!--MajorHazard 02:03, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Minor edits

Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thank you.

Ah, thanks for rule of thumb. Which of my edits do you refer?--MajorHazard 11:20, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome / Edits to Manual of Style

Hello MajorHazard,

A belated welcome to Wikipedia, as no-one else seems to have given you the conventional welcome yet.

This is just a courtesy note that I've moved some of the changes you made to WP:MOSNUM to the talk page, because I think they need more discussion first.

In general I've found that when editing the Manual of Style, it's wise to get consensus before editing. This is the opposite of the usual rule of be bold, but the Manual of Style is exceptional because it affects all the articles on Wikipedia. This is not an official guideline, but personally I've found it works better in practice.

Yours,

Stephen Turner (Talk) 05:53, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

OK, thank you for courtesy. I have been away for awhile but now I am ready to discuss. Who should I ask to give me some consensus?--MajorHazard (talk) 14:25, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
