[edit] License tagging for Image:KING5.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:KING5.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:06, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Alex Ross

Basically because it's simply fan-art as this particular painting was never used as a cover or interior art to Aquaman publications. Take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/editorial guidelines#Superhero box images and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics/Archive 12#interior art fairuse?.
Please, contact administrator Steve block. He's one of the WikiProject Comics' leaders and will surely give you a better explanation on this matter. Regards —Lesfer (t/c/@) 20:57, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:AQUA33.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:AQUA33.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. To keep discussion in one place I answered on my talk page. Nomen NescioGnothi seauton 01:29, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, sorry I was asleep when you last asked for my intervention :-) Anyway, Nseidm1 (talk · contribs) has just now made some changes to the article. Please do not revert these recent changes as they are much more conservative, and you need to expect that the article will change POV a bit until everyone is happy with it. I realise that that user holds a difference of opinion regarding the technology and is an unabashed WP:SPA, but please dont assume bad faith and cause the edit war to escalate. Keep things in perspective -- if the content on the article is inappropriate for a few days, nobody is really harmed. If this turns into an edit war, we all loose our volunteered time. If you feel that you want to revert anything, dont! :-) Instead jump on the talk page and outline why you want to revert and wait for someone else to agree with you. Our time is best spent researching the hard facts of the matter, which is precisely what Nseidm1 has added the [citation needed] tags for. Nseidm1 is not vandalising the article; this is merely a difference of opinion; it calls all sides to present more facts so the NPOV article can be written. John Vandenberg 00:00, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I never accused the person of being a vandal. I was careful in my wording to avoid specifically accusing anyone of anything. I simply stated that a certain trend in the article appeared to be vandalism to me, because it fit the definition of such according to the website, regardless of whether that is your opinion or not. I cited no individual. Majestic Lizard Returns 21:13, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Shortly after this argument took place my account here on wikipedia was hacked and I can longer edit from it. The statement that I have been behaving unfairly is quite ridiculous at this point.Majestic Lizard Returns 21:13, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Regarding some of your recent insinuations[1] I advise you to read agin WP:AGF, WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA.Respectfully Nomen NescioGnothi seauton 02:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

It is highly immature to send me messages aimed at intimidation on my discussion page. I have the right to my opinion and never specifically stated that you had done anything unethical. Look very closely at my wording. Majestic Lizard 04:27, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:USAGENTN.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:USAGENTN.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 17:01, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Streetsofrage69.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Streetsofrage69.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nreive (talk) 14:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
