From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Image:Anasysntaksi-logo-s.gif
It was deleted because the image was uploaded with a "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission" license. There is more information about this here. The image that you uploaded is at Image:Anasysntaksi-logo-s.gif. For it to stay on Wikipedia, it needs to be tagged properly - otherwise, it will be deleted again. I've temporarily restored the image so you can fix it. There are some instructions on the image page if you click on it. In the event that it gets deleted again, try uploading the same image to the same filename. --HappyCamper 17:28, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, "tagged properly" means this: When you upload an image to Wikipedia, you get a dropdown menu with a number of choices. You just need to make sure that you picked the one that reflects how the image is to be used. --HappyCamper 02:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Himalayan_musk_deer.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Himalayan_musk_deer.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Non-free use disputed for Image:Ndsv logo.gif
| This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Ndsv logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:25, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Unspecified sources for images
Thanks for uploading Image:2006agrapidis.gif, Image:2006arapoglou.jpg , Image:2006genimata.gif , Image:2006-logo-kourakis.jpg , Image:2006-skandalidis.gif and Image:2006tsagkos.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:25, 18 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 21:25, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Antidiapl07.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Antidiapl07.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chris B • talk • contribs 16:10, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, regarding Image:Antidiapl07.jpg, you recently added a note that it is available from the party's homepage and free to download and distribute. However the image is currently using a non-free licensing tag and thus licensed as Non-free content, so this is contradictory. Would you mind providing source information so that the copyright status can be verified by others? And bear in mind that even if the website allows free distribution, for the image to be considered "free" under Wikipedia's Image use policy, the license must permit both commercial reuse and derivative works. Cheers, -- Chris B • talk • contribs 18:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I am not very good in these copyright issues so I want your help. The image is from the first page of a 12-page newspaper that is distributed for free (no money is required to buy -check the first page that there is no cost written) in the whole Greece in special kiosks and is also available on-line. This newspaper is printed by Union of Centrists, a minor political party to promote its activities. The party's page is http://www.enosikentroon.gr and the page for the newspaper is http://www.enosikentroon.gr/antidia12.htm The newspaper is obviously free to distrubute and promote. Can you please set the right status for the image? -- Magioladitis 12:30, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

- Wikipedia’s image policy can be a pain in the neck.
- The newspaper scan can easily be used as non-free content and claimed as fair use – most newspapers and other copyrighted images on Wikipedia do so. It’s just important to get it right because half of the images don’t actually claim the fair use properly and this can have some serious legal consequences. Although the newspaper may be free of charge or what have you, the copyright (i.e. the artist's control of original work) is still owned by the publisher so that means that it cannot be used without their permission. (Unless they explicitly state that it can be used for whatever you want, including selling it and commercial use, it cannot be used as free content.) The ‘fair use’ however allows us to use it without permission under special circumstances, e.g. for educational purposes. I have added a proper rationale, basically the reasons why we are using it without their permission, so it is fine now.
- Don’t worry about copyright issues too much, it’s not explained very well. :) -- Chris B • talk • contribs 13:44, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Logo-leventis2.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Logo-leventis2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use images on templates
Please do not add fair use tagged images (such as those tagged with {{logo}}) to templates as you did here, here and here. This is proscribed by Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. All the best, --Durin 21:58, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
