Maddox has nothing to say.
Maddox' writing centers on "soft-hate" of all things gentle or thoughtful, and of all forms of fad-behavior. While I find myself in agreement with part of what he puts forth, that seems purely a matter of chance. He does not exhibit a discerning nature.
While his writing can be funny, too often it is not. You can call it "shock talk" if you want, but I see no value in saying demeaning things about people for shock value alone. In reality, he really does has nothing to say, and he says it time and again. If people enjoy reading his work, that says perhaps more about them than him, he's just selling his humor.
Make no mistake, his writing does border on brilliant at times, but he has nothing to teach, and no place he is "going" with his writing. I would guess that his writing appeals primarily to the pre-pubescent or barely-pubescent mind.
If Maddox had any desire to direct his attention to "real" issues he might turn out to be a real force. Perhaps it is just as well that he has not.
There is no question in my mind as to whether he "sold out".. of course he did, from "day one". That, or he truly is simply very immature. Any denial of having sold out is only to be expected in either case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.146.80.187 (talk) 01:06, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

QFT! I'm happy for him that he makes a living out of it, though. It seems people will buy anything these days, even when it really is nothing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.88.214.213 (talk) 13:25, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Photo
Somehow, a photo consisting of just the guy giving the finger seems a bit unnecessarily vulgar for Wikipedia. Are there any other pictures that could be substituted? Lord Seth (talk) 17:58, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I hope so. This picture is NSFW. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheMissileSilo (talk • contribs) 20:07, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- There are a lot of pictures on Wikipedia that are NSFW, as it is our policy to be uncensored. I better picture is always encouraged though. TostitosAreGross (talk) 02:54, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
WP:BLP
There seems to be a constant swarm of IP contributors that want to add poorly source and unsourced information to this article. I have reverted to a version by user:Arisedrink. Only well sourced information can be added. Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 17:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
You did a good job. If all my employees did as good as you, I'd have the time to edit Wikipedia all day long. Unfortunately, that's not the case. So keep up the great work while I'm gone again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arisedrink (talk • contribs) 11:24, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, Maddox said he worked for a database company. I do not know if he still does. This is the paragraph I altered: "Maddox worked as a database programmer for a telemarketing company. On June 6, 2006, Maddox announced that he had completed "The Best Comic in the Universe" and that it would be released at the San Diego Comic Con from July 20-23; afterwards, it was made available for purchase through his online store." WhisperToMe (talk) 05:34, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, I haven't seen Arisedrink posting here. Anyhow, Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Maddox_-_User:Arisefaith_and_sourcing WhisperToMe (talk) 10:11, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- EDIT: Changed Arisefaith to Arisedrink WhisperToMe (talk) 22:42, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Holy cow. What happened here? The old article had a lot of unverified trivia, but this has been stripped to nothing at all. Even the currently-cited sources say more than this, and WhisperToMe is quite right about non-controversial SPS. Cool Hand Luke 21:14, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- I came from there.
- This is some insane zeal. Some of these claims were supported by adjacent sources, or were otherwise easily verifiable. The Salon story says a lot, for example. As the article is writen now, one wouldn't even know that Maddox is known for his website! Cool Hand Luke 21:19, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- Maddox isn't only known for his website. He's also known for his anime pen name, his telemarketing job, his book, talk radio, and his comic book, as the article clearly states. You must be blind not to notice this. 200.67.71.119 (talk) 22:02, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi guys, I'm new here. Who is this user Arisefaith that you keep refering to? I haven't seen him on Wikipedia. Bye. Peapee (talk) 22:33, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- This individual: User:Arisedrink - I mistakenly referred to him as "Arisefaith" for some reason WhisperToMe (talk) 22:40, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Title
I've moved it back to Maddox (writer) because there is no way that just some Internet celebrity is the primary topic over biographies, US destroyers, etc. Not even close. Links on Wikipedia only indicate systematic bias and are not a reason for establishing who gets the primary topic and who gets the disambiguation, per WP:DAB. hbdragon88 (talk) 00:31, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
What happened?
Most of the content in this article has been deleted -- why?

You all suck-This is my pledge
You apparently all like failure. This is Maddox we're talking about here. You all keep saying a bunch of shit to improve the article or do something to it, but none of you does crap. I pledge to make this page better starting today. First I'm going to get rid of both of those "lead section guidelines" warnings. You apparently are all way way way too lazy to even fix the first SENTENCE of the article. You all lose. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:23, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- There, I've already done more than it seems any of you could possibly do. Fix the first sentence correctly. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:48, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Terribly sorry that English is my third language and I stick to article writing on other language versions. The lead was shit so I added the template... which made you fix it. All good. --SaberExcalibur! 22:52, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
No problem, and thanks! Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:25, 28 February 2008 (UTC
Sweet, the page just got protected, so now those vandals can't do anything about it. Lose. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 00:45, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

- Finally, this article looks readable and not like it was written more or less by retards. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:44, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Page protected
A few days ago, User:Rjd0060 semi-protected this article, citing anon vandalism; edit warring has continued among established editors, since then, so I've upped that protection to "full" -- at this point, only administrators will be able to edit the page in the next few days. Changes, if needed and supported by consensus, can be requested via the editprotected template on this talk page. I encourage interested users to discuss changes to this article on talk pages, and to make use of the dispute resolution process as needed. Thank you for your time. – Luna Santin (talk) 21:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
MADOX-01
If Maddox said in here [1] that his screen name comes from Madox-01, surely we can say that he said that, right? WhisperToMe (talk) 05:01, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Surely. It used to be in the article and idk how it got removed. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:27, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- User:Arisedrink removed it. [2] WhisperToMe (talk) 01:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Somehow, that doesn't surprise me... Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:09, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
