  • Lokata is the name of a small marine electronics manufacturing company which was based in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK. The company, founded in 1977 manufactured a range of marine radio receivers, Navtex receivers, radar detectors, SARTS and EPIRBs. The company moved to its own premises in the town of Penryn in the 1980s, and had up to 50 employees.

The company was purchased in the early 1990s by Kelvin Hughes Ltd of Hainault, Essex. The Falmouth premises was closed and manufacturing moved to Hainault. No products bearing the Lokata badge are known to be currently manufactured.

The radar detector, known as the Lokata Watchman was a rechargeable hand-held directional radar detector, used for detecting the source of radar signals at sea, for the purposes of collision avoidance. 62.6.250.109 15:36, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

I have finally found a reference![1] It appears a company called "Lokata" made a radar called the "Watchman" hence the "Lokata Watchman". I still can't find anything about this exocet missile thing, so that'll have to be deleted. Also this article will either need a name change to "Lokata Watchman" or may need to be deleted as per notability reasons e.g a google search of "Lokata" only turns up mirrors of Wikipedia, there is no company website for Lokata. There's also a bunch of wikispam and dubious articles talking about newer Exocets being able to home in on jamming. I really doubt that a backyard inventor managed to stumble on the exact same mode of operation that the Exocet designers used, or that his technology would be militarily useful enough to suppress. Seems dubious. At least you've found some evidence these devices were actually produced. John Nevard (talk) 14:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
