[edit] merge?

Should this be merged with List of people who died in aviation-related incidents? One is listed by cause, and the other by person - I'd like to keep them both, but it seems duplicative - there must be an easier way to manage all the people who turn up on lists? The Fellowship of the Troll 07:36, 15 Jan 2004 (UTC)

    • Merge Antonio the Last Coca Cola Martin
    • Do not merge. Let both grow in parallel. Jay 09:02, 8 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • Merge appears to duplicate other list - and the use of the term misadventure (an accident that was not due to crime or negligence) may not be true for some of the entries. MilborneOne 19:58, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

How about we merge the two pages into a sortable wikitable? That way there would only be one list to edit but it would serve the same purpose as the two list we have now? I've done an example table on my user page. For a larger example see List of George Cross recipients--Yupcont 21:12, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] misadventure?

I think the name misadventure sounds rather informal for a death. I think tragedy or accident is more of an appropiate word...any opinions? Antonio Supermodel Martin

Good suggestion. List of famous deaths by aircraft accident. Jay 08:32, 9 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I disagree, I think misadventure is exactly the right word but Antonio already knows that from when he changed the motorcycle page. Bob Palin 15:00, 9 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I have to agree that "misadventure" sounds more like someone who died because they were dive bombing cars on the highway and didn't pull up soon enough. A change is in order.

Anyone know what is the difference between "Helicopter accident" and "Helicopter crash"? DJ Clayworth 5 July 2005 16:50 (UTC)

[edit] chronological order

The deaths for the airplane crashes appear to be in chronological order, not alphabetical order. I find it important which order to use due to the recent death of Peter Tomarken.

[edit] Wilbur Wright

I noticed that Wilbur Wright is listed as having died in an airplane crash, yet the article on the Wright brothers indicates that he died of Typhoid Fever. If this is the case, shouldn't he be stricken from this list? --BrianFane 13:40, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
