Talk:List of Ninin Ga Shinobuden characters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Onsokumaru always yells "Gabora!". In dubs of the anime there is no translation for the word. When I look it up on Wikipedia it comes up as a character from Ultraman, another anime. Is this the actual root of the catchphrase...or is it a Japanese thing? Leemorrison 19:55, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- This is the first and so far only series I've heard it in and I don't know anything about Ultraman other than what he looks like. Maybe it's one of the many cultural references sprinkled throughout the series. --BrokenSphere 20:15, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Minor Characters Removed
I took out 8 characters from the minor character list. They appear in only one episode each and with the possible exception of Sodom and Gomorrah, have no impact on the story, and there is little or no information available on them. Below is everything I removed. If all goes well, I'll have a voice-credit section up in the main article and most of this will re-appear there. I believe I'm the only one working on Ninja Nonsense right now, so I've shortcut the discussion. If someone else is working on it and has comments or objections just drop me a note. - ===Sodom===
- The smaller of the two ogres who visit the mansion in episode 11. Sasuke attacks him, thinking he's invading the place, but in truth, he's there to retrieve a baseball that fell in the mansion's yard.

- The larger of two ogres who visit the mansion in episode 11. Sasuke attacks him, thinking he's there to invade the place, by slipping underwear filled with hot mustard on him. In truth, he came to find a lost baseball.

- Well, I don't know about the rest, but Midori does appear now and then in the Manga.
- I only have the first 2 volumes, and she has appeared at least 4 times, the first time being Shirado High's culture fest (the haunted house incident - Volume 1, Chapter 5. pg. 48), the second being Kaede & Shinobu's date (she remembers Shinobu from the culture fest - Volume 1, Chapter 10, pg. 89-90), the third being after Kaede and Shinobu went to the river (Volume 2, Chapter 25, pg. 72), and the fourth time is her appearance in Volume 2, Chapter 34, pg 148. In this fourth appearance, the whole chapter revolves round Midori's cat.
- Whatever the case, she definitely appears way more often than Kaede's dad (who only appears once as of Volume 2). Flameoftheabyss 11:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Character names reference?
Could Osokumaru be a reference to Orochimaru from Naruto? Could Kaede be a reference to a ninja of the same name from Negima!? Could Shinobu be a reference to the Love Hina character of the same name, a series written by the same guy who writes Negima!? I also saw Sasuke there--could THAT be a reference to the Naruto character? I wouldn't mention this otherwise, but there are so many naming parallels! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.79.233.123 (talk) 16:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
