Are these the dates the acquisitions were announced? Or finalized? There are some discrepancies. For example, Cognos is listed as 2007, when in reality the acquisition will not be finalized until 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.246.40.54 (talk) 16:12, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I added whole pile of acquisitions, primarily from the ibm press releases. where available, i listed the date as when the acquisitions closed, not when it was announced. i will try to get the rest of the dates and acquisitions in to the table... the other companies which have lists of acquisitions use this table format, and i think, since it is sortable, etc that it works pretty well.
