[edit] Areas of Focus
If anyone is looking for direction regarding help to provide in completing this article, at the moment I would suggest adding articles for the following developers/publishers, which will resolve multiple red links each:
Title (# of addressed links)
- Prime Group (14)
- Full On Games (FOG) (8)
- Micro Cabin Corporation (8): References: Company Site: http://www.microcabin.co.jp/ GameSpy: http://www.gamespy.com/company/025/025042.html
- Kid Genius Pty Ltd. (7)
- Naxat Soft (7) References: Moby Games: http://www.mobygames.com/company/naxat-soft Gamespot:
- Abel, Inc. (6)
- Bimboosoft (6)
- Ecole (6)
- Riverhill Soft (6)
- UEP Systems (5)
- Fujicom Co., Ltd. (4)
- Hack Berry Co., Ltd. (4)
- Shoeisha (4)
- StarFish, Inc. (4)
- Athena Co., Ltd. (2)
- DaZZ (2)
- OLYMPIA Co., Ltd. (2)
- Mass Media Inc. (2)
- Media Entertainment Co, Ltd. (2)
Alternately, working to complete entries for titles in the "A" section would also be appreciated.Kolano (talk) 05:22, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WP:VG Assessment
- Don't reference Google image search. Reference individual game covers.
- Get rid of the HUGE amount of red links - and no, don't go and create stub articles. Basically, every red link will need a non-list (i.e.: a page specifically about the game, like a review by a notable gaming website) reference stating the notability for inclusion - the notability for games already on Wikipedia (and thus have a 'blue link') should be established on the article about the respective games (not here). Wikipedia doesn't list every silly flash game for Windows, so a list as this should be kept to the at least somewhat popular titles -> Listcruft.
- Kept start, High.

Resolving red links a larger project, though I'm not sure why the incompleteness of other portions of Wikipedia effect the status of this list. One source to flush out the numerous unlisted Japanese games is the Japanese Wikipedia site. Here's a list of titles they cover but are absent in English:
- alumni 2 again and refrain
- DreamStud!o (ドリームスタジオ)
- Gakkyu-o-Yamazaki
- Let's Golf
- Hundred Swords
- Idol Janshi wo Tsukucchaou
- Iris
- Jet Coaster Dream
- Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2000: Dreamcast Edition
- Jojo's bizarre adventures
- Yukyu Gensoukyoku 3: Perpetual Blue
- Yume no Tsubasa: Fate of Heart

[edit] Sorting
I added classes to make the list tables sortable. Some thoughts on improvements would be...
- A full page version of this list without the alphabetic breaks would allow nicer sorting. I'm not sure if there is anyway to do that within one page and maintain the section edits, or in 2 and keep the 2 pages in sync.

[edit] Handling of Games with Multiple Names
There are a number of games with varying names depending on their region. Their name variations place them at different alphabetic locations in the list so listing them as a single item seems problematic, but listing them separately seems to go against having a single line per game.
There is some similar discussion on the main "List of Games" discussion, but no clear decision around how to handle. Kolano 02:09, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
One other thing to consider here is that games do not always share release dates between regions. Some way to clearly indicate that would be good. Kolano 06:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-Games/Unreleased games?
The Dreamcast had a few titles that would not be classified as "games". For instance:
- Web Browsers:"Broadband Passport Web Browser"
- Video Players: "Dreamcast VCD Player"
- Email App: Hello Kitty: Otonaru Mail (へーロキティ音なるメール)
- Magazine Pack-in Disks: Dreamon 1-22
- Various Bleamcast titles
Should these be included on this list? Kolano 02:09, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- In my opinion they don't really belong. And it's also unlikely they'll ever have articles. Anyone else have a take? --SubSeven 03:47, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- To my thinking it comes down to if this is a list of "games" or a list of "titles". Having a complete list of titles seems like a good idea, even if this isn't it.Kolano 04:38, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Also there are a number of canceled games excluded from this list. A few of these have seen seen the light of day, though not through "official" channels. Kolano 04:28, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Japanese Titles
I have added a near complete set of Kanji titles for Japanese games. Though this should be an English language resource, having the Kanji helps clearly identify Japaneses titles preventing duplication of games with multiple English translations of their name. Though certain Japanese releases simply have English names, there are a few Japanese releases I suspect have Kanji titles that I have thus far been unable to find/work out. Investigation into filling these gaps would be appreciated. To help with this here's a list of Japanese titles missing Kanji, please update as we make progress on this:
Japanese Games with unknown Kanji:
- Dance Dance Revolution: 2nd Mix [1]
- Dance Dance Revolution: Club Version
- Forever Hero III [2]
- Game of Life
- Hello Kitty: Garden Panic [3]
- House of the Dead 2, The [4]
- Innocent Tears
- Japanese Chess Gold [5]
- Killer V-Pachi
- King of Fighters '99, The: Evolution [6]
- Last Hope [7]
- L.O.L.-Lack of Love
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes [8]
- Monaco GP Racing Simulation 2 [9]
- Monaco Grand Prix
- NBA 2K
- NBA 2K1
- NBA 2K2
- NFL 2K [10]
- NFL 2K1 [11]
- NFL 2K2
- NHL 2K2
- Radium
- Seven Magic Mansions
- Spring
- Sure Win Pachisuro V-Pachi
- Sydney 2000 [12]

[edit] Developer / Publisher Cleanup
There are a few issues with developer/publisher links currently:
- Some do not lead directly to the developer/publisher, but rather various incorrect or splash pages.
- A number of these Developers / Publishers still need Wikipedia pages.
Reviewing these links and updating them is in order.
