This is a list of the longest underground/surface/elevated subways, metros and rapid transit modules of the world. Metropolitan railways are urban, electric transport systems with high capacity and a high frequency of service. Metros are totally independent from other traffic, road or pedestrians.
Criteria of Urban rail system:
1.Electrified railway system
2.Operating mostly inside urban area.
3.Using tunnels, viaducts or on surface level but with physical separation from other traffic, roads or pedestrians.
4.Independent from national railways.
5.Trains are designed for carrying large amount of passengers, so there is plenty of space for standing passengers.
6.Service fequency is normally higher than every 15 minutes.
