[edit] Simpsons Alternative UK Christmas Message (2004)

This 157-second animated short was specially commissioned by Britain's Channel 4 as part of their acclaimed annual "Alternative Christmas Message". It aired on December 25, 2004 at 3:PM, 4:05PM, 6:10PM, 8:25PM and 10:35PM London time (15:00, 16:05, 18:10, 20:25 and 22:35 UTC) in part to celebrate Channel 4's newly acquired rights to The Simpsons. More important, the first showing competed with the Queen's annual Royal Christmas Message, which was broadcast on rival networks ITV1 and BBC One at the same time. The show humorously purports to be breaking the fourth wall to present the Simpson family as speakers in a live studio format, similar to Marge's audience request prior to the story segments in several Treehouse of Horror episodes. Marge attempts to stick to her pre-scripted speech about British subjects whilst predictably the chaos of the Simpson family ensues.
