- Walther P38 pistol - erroneously mentioned in the manga as initial weapon of Boy #17 Mitsuru Numai, although the illustrations clearly depict a Walther P99 instead. Curiously, the manga panel in with Mitsuko Souma kills Yoshimi Yahagi seems to depict a Walther P38 instead of a Colt M1911 although it is supposed to be the Colt (and is clearly shown to be one in the surrounding panels).

1- Weapon was not seen in the film, but is attributed to the character in tie-in books released in conjunction with the film.
2- Goof: In the first few shots of the Hirono-Mitsuko confrontation, Hirono was holding a Browning High-Power. It was later re-switched to a Colt M1911. (see Hirono Shimizu's image gallery)
In the film version, the government soldiers are issued with M16A2 assault rifles, and Kitano wields a Colt M1911.

- Boy #3 Tatsumichi Oki's axe is of a very different shape in the Manga, to the point of resembling a Machete
- Boy #5 Shogo Kawada begins with a SPAS-12 Shotgun in the film, in the novel it is a sawed-off Remington M31, in the manga it is a Remington 870
- Boy #6 Kazuo Kiriyama begins with a knife in the novel, but acquires an Ingram Mac 10 Submachine Gun soon enough; in the manga he acquires an Ingram Mac-10 and it is apparently his starting weapon
