[edit] Screwy link

The link:
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=1LINDSEY|BUCKINGHAM
doesn't appear correctly in the article. It probably has to do with the presence of weird characters in the link. If anyone knows how to fix this, please do so. Thanks. —Frecklefoot 21:10, 28 Jan 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Poor boy

Like Alannah Myles, he must definitely be one of the most misspelt artists ever. almost 25,000 hits on google for "Linds*a*y B.", > 300,000 for "Linds*e*y B." -andy 80.129.74.95 21:27, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Name and date of birth

My research points towards his full name being Lindsey Adams Buckingham, and being born on 3 October 1947, not 1949. Can someone comment further ?|

Derek R Bullamore 18:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't know about his middle name, but his birthdate was taken from here, his own Web site. --Aguerriero (talk) 19:22, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Epilepsy?

Has Lindsey said this in interviews because I can't seem to find any information about it.

[edit] Infobox fields

Now that the much more suitable guitarist infobox has been restored (after being vandalised back on March 1st) it would be great to see the audio caption field populated. According to the project guidelines this field is to be used for a 30 second sound byte that gives a sample of Buckingham's guitar style. Buckingham has a very unique guitar style and he is often underrated(or forgotten completely) for his guitar skills. I can think of many songs(both solo and Mac) that a nice audio rip could be taken from but my choices and someone else's choices could be completely different. Some audio sample consensus should be reached on what sound byte could be uploaded and placed in the empty field. I see the Mark Knopfler article has an audio sample and, being who the subject is, the sample is taken from his Sultans of Swing solo (an obvious choice). For the Buckingham article it won't be as easy. Any thoughts on which song should be sampled? 156.34.142.110 12:05, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

How about Big Love Or Go Insnae From The Dance 88.108.12.81 21:36, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Go Insane doesn't really contain a sample of his unique guitar skill. Big Love, the original version, is better. But I was just listening to Buckingham's live solo acoustic version of Big Love which has a 30 second acoustic 'fingerpick' style interlude right in the middle that would be perfect. Audio samples can't exceed 30 seconds. And that little solo really shows his particular guitar style quite well. Are you familiar with that version of the track? 156.34.142.110 13:52, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes I think that would be a great example i have the track but i think think the on from the Elizabethan soundtrack is better i have both tracks/albums?

Will add one in for now. A different one...either better quality or a cleaner edit may be added in. A request can be made, perhaps, to add 2? Peter Fleet 03:34, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Controversy

Regarding the new section that was added, "Controversy", I'm not sure it is necessary to have a whole section on this incident. Musicians cancel shows all the time, and many times because of equipment issues. I think the section should be removed and a brief mention placed in the section that talks about his album and tour. However, I'm not really unbiased because I am a fan so I won't remove it myself. Thoughts? --Spike Wilbury 20:11, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, it's been a month and no one has even commented, so I am removing the section. --Spike Wilbury talk 14:37, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Uh, if Lindsay Buckingham came to my theater and had a prob with sound I would listen to him. It's about letting the artist do his deal, not letting the theater dictate to him. Of course he nuts, whaddya expect? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.113.193.200 (talk) 00:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] response to your Controversy censorship

So glad you're honest enough to admit your biased and a fan of Lindsey. But I thought Wikipedia was for the 'people' of which I also am a fan but thought his being rude to the Lincoln venue and cancelling the day of the show after saying vulgarities and also that it was published on CNN kind of makes this an event which should be included. You don't think the mega-ego incident should be censored and that you're the one who should censor it? I disagree and am adding it again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jflins (talkcontribs) 5 August 2007

This content may have WP:UNDUE and WP:NPOV issues as it stands, but it does not have sufficient notablity to warrant its own section. I suggest regular editors of this article review the content, and possibly expand it to include other information on the subject's tour. Dreadstar 02:33, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:LBuckAlbum.jpg

Image:LBuckAlbum.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
