The Lincoln MKT is a luxury crossover utility concept vehicle, first unveiled at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. It represents a potential future production vehicle for Lincoln, and design cues shows visual similarity with the upcoming Lincoln MKS sedan, which is set for initial production in the summer of 2008. The concept MKT vehicle is powered with a 415 hp 3.5L V6 version of Ford's new EcoBoost engine family - a turbocharged gasoline direct injection system, which features the horsepower capability of a larger displacement engine, with the fuel economy of a smaller engine.[1] The all wheel drive vehicle features electric power steering, replacing the traditional hydraulic power steering.[2] Speculation in the automotive press has Lincoln beginning production of a vehicle built on the D4 platform for the 2010 model year, and based visually on the MKT concept vehicle and sized with the planned 2009 Ford Flex crossover vehicle.[3] Other sources suggest Ford hopes to launch the vehicle in 2010 as a 2011 model,[4] but Ford Motor Company has not confirmed MKT production plans.[5]

According to Lincoln, the "T" in MKT, stands for Touring. If produced, the MKT would represent the third Lincoln crossover/SUV in the lineup, slotted between the midsize MKX crossover and the large Navigator SUV.

The concept vehicle for the display in the 2008 auto show circuit was built by Prefix Corporation located in Rochester Hills, MI[6]
