Zane Copeland, Jr. (July 11, 1982), better known as Lil' Zane, is a rapper out of Atlanta, Georgia, although he was born in Yonkers, New York. He is arguably best known for his debut album Young World: The Future, released in 2000. The album's single, "Callin' Me," featuring 112 is widely considered his best. Zane has been in several movies, including Cuttin' da Mustard, A Day in the Life, The Sun Will Rise, Motives, The Fighting Temptations, Dr. Dolittle 2, and Finding Forrester.
In 2003, Copeland released The Big Zane Theory. With it, he formally changed his stage name from Lil' Zane to simply Zane. Copeland explained "Zane is my real name, that's the name that's on my birth certificate and my mom likes that name" for changing his name in a BallerStatus.net interview.
Zane is currently working on his new album, Tha Return. This new project will feature, Richboy, Raz-B, Akon, Bonecrusher, and Jon B.[1]
Also in the works is the movie, Diary of a Champion which is to be directed by Ingeborg C. Eiland. The movie takes a look inside the lives of eight athletes selected for the 2004 Olympic Track & Field team. Embarking on the journey to Athens, Greece, two determined coaches try to keep their team focused on winning the gold medal. But when the athletes are forced to face their personal issues, tempers flare and the explosive eruptions take us on a roller coaster ride to the finish. His character is T-Lowe.[2]
