Talk:Leonardo DiCaprio

[edit] German
I deletet the part wich said that diCaprio speaks fluently German. I saw him sometimes here in german television, and he speaks only some words german.84.56.233.65 (talk) 23:01, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
The article is poorly formatted. Before any subsections there has to be a definition which should also summarize what he is famous for. The biography section has a bad writing style and diction (changing subjects, etc.). PeepP 23:32, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
I totally agree. Very bad writing style. I surfed in here and clean it up a little, but not a lot. I don't really know much about Mr. DiCaprio so I'm not the one to fix. BernieD 10:24, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Who is this pop star Samantha? It has been widely reported that DiCaprio's squeze in recent years has been the Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundschen.
Okay, last time I checked Personal Life, it said after he and Bar split, they were spotted kissing at a New Years Eve party. Now it just says they split in October 2007. Did they split up again? Ginnina; 8:18, 1 Febuary 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ginnina (talk • contribs)
The "Samantha" references seem to be clearly false. He has been widely acknowledged as dating Gisele Bundschen for some time, including on the Bundschen wikipedia entry. There needs to be an edit of this to reflect this changes and explain exactly who "Samantha" is, if she exists, and when he began dating his current girlfriend. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THERE IS NO SAMANTHA IT IS JODI-KAYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[edit] "Tufano" vandalism
Note that edits inserting supposed information about "Marc Tufano" are vandalism and should be reverted on sight. This has affected multiple articles (Robert De Niro, The Beatles, etc. etc.) -- Curps 19:08, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Freemasonry?
What's up with the "Freemason" link at the bottom of the page? This article doesn't explain anything about a connection between DiCaprio and Freemasonry, so I've deleted the reference.you rock leo i think you are hot
[edit] Height
Two heights are quoted on this page - 5'9 and at the bottom, 6'1. Which is correct?
http://www.celebheights.com/s/Leonardo-DiCaprio-15.html, and according to imdb, he is at 5'11". I actually have met him once when he was in his early 20's. he wasn't 6'1" for sure at that time. SummerThunder 07:57, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] los feliz
someone wrote that his area los feliz was the most expensive area in the usa. well, los feliz probably still is. the library's address 1874 Hillhurst Ave is not really in los feliz. it is outside or on the border of los feliz. it is not a very nice area. therefore, I deleted that line. oh, yea, I have met him once when he still lived there, talked to him. At that time, he was only the actor from Growing Pains. I should have asked him for his autograph. ;) SummerThunder 07:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Los Feliz Rebuttal, by an actual Los Feliz resident
I have lived in Los Feliz (the area is very nice IMHO), and DiCaprio did indeed live within the recognized boundaries of Los Feliz. 1874 Hillhurst Ave is most certainly in Los Feliz. This is why the Los Feliz library sits at that address. It is doubtful that they would put the library OUTSIDE of the neighborhood in which it serves.
As to the relative wealth of the area, consult this Wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Feliz
It states that the 90027 zip code (Los Feliz) is one of the most wealthy in the nation.
Here is the excerpt:
"Although Beverly Hills has become the symbol of luxury living in Los Angeles, Los Feliz is one of the most expensive areas in Los Angeles and through the years, has still retained its spot as one of America's wealthiest zip codes, 90027."
I will grant you that the Hillhurst section is on the lower end of the neighborhood's niceties, but it would not be classified as a "slum" by even the most liberal interpretations of the word.
Can I ask why in media they say Leo and mum were poor but he lived here??? My mum wants to know! I just figure he lived in parts that weren't so popular at the time, but still nice.

[edit] DiCaprio = "from Capri"? No way
In the article it says: «His last name means "from Capri" in Italian». This is absolutely false. Di Capri (as the famous italian singer Peppino D. C.) means "from Capri" (and in fact Peppino Di Capri is "from Capri"). But DiCaprio means "from Caprio", and who knows where the locality of Caprio could be. --Baburkhan 09:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] link
the link of his production company Appian Way, is incorrectly linked. I would fix it, but I don't know how :) Instead of a stub to the company, it links to the actual Appian Way. Could someone fix this?
[edit] Awards table
As of 27th Jan '08, the awards table is a little messed up. Everything above 2003 has invisible borders. The rightmost column movies not always match the award.

[edit] WP:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers priority assessment
Per debate and discussion re: assessment of the approximate 100 top priority articles of the project, this article has been included as a top priority article. Wildhartlivie (talk) 11:07, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Leroy-Salta?
This article is about actor Leonardo DiCaprio, but it starts by naming him Leonardo Leroy-Salta. It is at no point in the article explained that he carries a stage name, and he is said to be born as DiCaprio. If there's a reason for which he's being name Leroy-Salta in this article, it's not clear Alexi035 (talk) 15:05, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Titanic
The beginning paragraph states that: "He garnered worldwide fame for his role as Jack Dawson in Titanic (1997), and he has since starred in many other successful films including Romeo + Juliet (1996)..." Romeon + Juliet should be taken out of that sentence of moved further up in the paragraph as it came out before Titanic. --Mjrmtg (talk) 01:21, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] private jet
Someone should mention that he still flies a private jet. He flew one to the premier of 11th hour. He actually flies on them more then commercial —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.250.49.22 (talk) 23:48, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
