Legion of the Unliving

The Legion of the Unliving is a name used by five fictional groups in the Marvel Comics universe. All were foes of the Avengers.

The first Legion was a band of superhumans gathered by Kang the Conqueror. All the beings he gathered were believed to be dead at the time, a tactic that he hoped would strike fear into the Avengers.

The second Legion was a group of simulacra of various dead superhumans, created by the Grandmaster.

The third Legion was another group of simulacra of various dead superhumans, this time created by Immortus. This group consisted of Oort the Living Comet, Left-Winger and Right-Winger, the Black Knight (Nathan Garrett), Toro, the Swordsman, and Iron Man of 2020.

The fourth Legion was a group of zombies created by Grim Reaper (mystically boosted by Lloigoroth) from the corpses of the victims of a plane crash. Into these zombies he placed the souls of several dead Avengers foes.

The fifth Legion was the undead spirits of several former Avengers, summoned and controlled by the Grim Reaper.
