The Leading Edge Group is an Australian owned Buying Group with over 1300 retail shopfronts[citation needed] throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The Leading Edge Group began in 1986 as Electronic Enterprises, a buying group focussed on the home theatre market.
In 1997, a range buying groups was consolidated under the brand name of the Leading Edge Group, making it one of the largest retail entities in Australia.

Leading Edge Computers has over 130 stores primarily in regional locations around Australia. ARN Magazine has voted them 2007 Retailer of the Year.[1]
[edit] Leading Edge Electronics
Leading Edge Electronics is a buying group of around 48 former Dick Smith Electronics (DSE) stores. These privately owned resellers changed suppliers in a major move against Australian electronics giant DSE in October 2004 after the resellers were informed that their contracts would not be renewed and in many instances that a DSE company owned store would be opening in the town in competition with them.[2][3][4].
One of LEE's major suppliers is Jaycar Electronics, who supply their products to Leading Edge via Electus distribution.

In 2004 Leading Edge Group purchased 15 retail stores from Telecom NZ[5].

Leading Edge Books UK was established in March 2007[6].
Leading Edge Group is a sponsor of Windeward Bound a square rigged training ship[7].
