Law enforcement in Cyprus

The Cyprus Police are a part of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order and are the police force in the Republic of Cyprus. In 2003, there were 4041 officers in the force.[1]

Cyprus has a low crime rate in relation to many other European nations, with a ratio of 1024 serious crimes per 100,000 people, compared to 5,000 to 100,000 in Europe.[2]
