"Lap of Luxury" was the American rock and roll band Cheap Trick's comeback album, and also saw the reforming of the original line-up featuring Tom Petersson on 12 string bass. The band had a successful tour of Australia with the release of this album and returned a number of times during its success.

"The Flame" was their highest charting and only #1 single. It had been determined by their label that they were in need of song writing help, so Cheap Trick recorded the song in order to appease their label, Epic Records. The band hated the song so much they refused to play the song on their upcoming tour. However, the band frequently played the song afterwards, and still plays it to this day.
