Talk:Kurt Halsey

[edit] Age
His age should not be written as it is (i.e., "29-year-old"), this goes against Wikipedia's rules for 'timelessness' of dates (I don't know how else to say this; but I read in one of the policy pages that something should not be put up that would, for example, have to be changed every year just for the purpose of keeping it accurate). Someone should find his birthdate. 142.25.141.76 (talk) 23:41, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV
Let's try to keep this entry objective and neutral. Using evasive phrasing like "some people think" or "one might assume" when refering to merch is more like a masked opinion than a neutral point of view. Thanks.

[edit] Links
Anoymous users keep deleting a link. Any particular reason?
[edit] Notability
I get 131,000 google hits for "Kurt Halsey," with the front pages largely independent of Wikipedia content, so I would say he's definitely notable and the article means what it says about a considerable following. It could use a more clear-cut statement of notability (and better biographical data, such as a year of birth), so I've left the notability template, but I doubt it should be deleted. There is an xkcd comic titled "Godel, Escher, Kurt Halsey": http://xkcd.com/c24.html . As a combination of Gödel, Escher, Bach and Kurt Halsey's name, it represents evidence that Kurt Halsey has wider cultural significance. Koalaitis 02:11, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- And of course this other one: http://xkcd.com/46/ is a tribute to Halsey (see the alt-tex when mousing over). 128.169.245.254 (talk) 06:36, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
I can't find any evidence to support the notability of the subject per the criteria at WP:BIO. Neither the multiple references required under the general requirements, nor the significant achievements (work in museum collections etc) needed to meet the specific requirements for creative professionals. I'm (re)adding a notability tag.--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 19:50, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
