Kukujevci

Kukujevci is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Šid municipality, in the Srem District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 2,252 people (2002 census).

Prior to what in Croatia alonbe is referred to as the Croatian War of Independence (and in other locations usually as "Wars for Ex-YU Succession"), the population of the town was 97% Croat.[1] The new Serbian population has sought to rename the town to Lazarevo.[2]
