Donji Petrovci

Donji Petrovci (Доњи Петровци), also known as Petrovci (Петровци), is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Ruma municipality, Srem District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 991 people (2002 census).

In ancient times, a Roman town known as Bassianae existed at this location. It was one of the more important towns in the Pannonia province and in the 4th century it was a seat of the Christian bishopric. [1]
