[edit] Evanescence Articles

Can i just say the tables of chart pos. you have been putting into the articles look amazing they really complement the articles, keep up the great work.--Childzy (Talk|Contribs) 11:29, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Invisible (Ashlee Simpson song)

  1. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. While the Wikipedia community appreciates your obvious efforts to increase the amount of information on the site, we'd like to point out our policy against original research and for citing sources for the information you provide. This increases the reputation of Wikipedia as a whole and aids in checking the factuality of that article.
  2. Remember to mark your edits as minor when, but only when, they genuinely are (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one, or vice versa, is condsidered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. [edit] Image tagging for Image:Eef.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Eef.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Charts

I must dispute your edit here. The infobox has a place for the chart positions, and it is much better if placed in there. Therefore, I am moving it back. Please discuss these sort of radical changes on the talk page before doing so. There has already been a discussion about this on the talk page, and I (and other editors) would appreciate some consensus before unilaterally changing things. Copysan 03:22, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Please join the discussion on the talk page about the charts for this article. We would like to hear you input rather than have you unilaterally change the page. As youve done. Again. Copysan 23:03, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Total Request Live

Thank you for your contributions to Total Request Live. Some edits have been made to the article in order to bring it into harmony with Wikipedia's Manual of Style. Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines shown there. All edits that do not follow these guidelines have been changed to match what our MoS recommends. Wikipedia does not require writers to follow all or any of these rules, but their efforts will be more appreciated when they do so.

Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thanks!

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 12:56, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

  1. In accordance with the Manual of Style, album titles are meant to be in italics. The "wikitable" format is traditionally used for music-related tables; see, for example, Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/Tables for charts.
  2. I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks!
  3. Thanks! [edit] Evanescence Charts

Hi, I would like to ask why you reverted my edit of adding the Australian ARIA Chart to Call Me When You're Sober? We're going to have to put that in the article anyway when it charts, and it's much easier for people to fill it in than make another one. Please answer on my talk page. ~ EmeZxX 02:11, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh okay. Thanks for clarifying that for me. ~ EmeZxX 02:23, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Christina Aguilera discography

Sorry, but i think you are the one who is reverting everything!!! Christina's self-titled album sold 16 million, Stripped sold 12 million. I also had sources for it, but someone ( I think it was you) deleted them!!!!!!!!! please stop it!

[edit] So Yesterday

  1. There was a discussion (now archived at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Music/Tables for charts/Archive) last year in which consensus arose that chart trajectories shouldn't be included in song and album articles. Now, this discussion was a while ago, but the reasoning behind it still stands. I myself believe the presence of week-by-week chart trajectories contradicts the "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information" policy; we're supposed to provide general summaries, not fansite-like detail. Much of these statistics and numbers will mean nothing to the casual reader, and too much information is a great way of hiding what's actually relevant. Also, you failed to cite your sources for the trajectories.
  2. I see that you are still marking all edits as "minor" and not providing an edit summary, despite being asked not to do so. Please don't do this; it's often considered bad behaviour. If you're not sure how to stop marking edits as "minor", just click on the "My preferences" link at the very top of each page, go to the "Editing" tab, deselect the "Mark all edits minor by default" box, and click the "Save" button. You can also select the "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box if you want to make sure you leave an edit summary for every edit. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 09:29, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

==Christina Aguilera discography""

I agree that these are the sales

   * Christina Aguilera- 12.5 million
   * Stripped- 9.5 million
   * Mi Reflejo- 2.2 million
   * My Kind Of Christmas- 3 million

But what I dont like is that YOU take away chart positions for half of the countries!!! change the sales dont take away information. And if u will take the information, then I change the sales!!!!

Her first single was Reflection!!! And Christmas Time and Infatuation were also released!!!!

If You just change the sales, then I have no problem with it!!

[edit] Hurt (Christina Aguilera song)

You restored chart trajectories and unofficial charts here to the article in question, but these are generally frowned upon because they are difficult to verify after the song is no longer popular, and violates what Wikipedia is not. Please do not airplay charts and community-central statistics since they do not compile the entire country's audience impressions. For a detailed discussion regarding these matters, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Music/Tables for charts. Thank you. Velten 00:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Maneater (Nelly Furtado song) and Say It Right

  1. top40-charts.com is an unreliable source for most charts; for example, they list the entry position of "Maneater" on the UK chart at number seven when it was actually number eight.
  2. Billboard is a magazine, so its title needs to go in italics in accordance with the Manual of Style.
  3. Instead of restoring chart trajectories without explanation, you might like to leave a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Music/Tables for charts explaining why you think they are suitable for inclusion in a general purpose encyclopedia.
  4. I've asked you to provide descriptive edit summaries for major edits and stop marking all your edits as "minor"; you haven't done either of these things. If you refuse to take my advice, other editors may think you are deliberately trying to mislead them. Please stop this.
  5. Ignoring other users is frowned on and could be seen as disruptive behaviour. Extraordinary Machine 17:10, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Hola. Esperamos tu ayuda. No olvides firmar tu voto. Regiopedian 00:36, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Britney Spears discography

Hi there. I'm the admin that semi-protected the above article. I note now that there is still severe revert-warring going on with more than one single-purpose account changing sales figures and reverting to older revisions. I'm not sure of the history here but I recall your commentary on WP:RFPP. As a result I have warned both accounts over the three-revert rule and have tagged both of them as suspected sock-puppets of the one editor. Can you post a message on my talk page explaining the background to all this? In the meantime, I'll keep the article on my watchlist. Thanks! - Alison 12:10, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Evanescence sales figures

I know you said you checked SoundScan, but what website or publication is this data located in? Please do provide a proper citation, or provide the information for me and I'll do it. Thanks. -- Huntster T@C 02:51, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, I'm not comfortable with not having a proper source for these data, but I suppose it is better than what we have now. Personally, I'd like to get rid of all sales figures that aren't backed by verifiable sources, on all Evanescence articles. I may very well do a sweep at some point and do this, since it would be well within the bounds of Wikipedia policy to do so... :/ -- Huntster T@C 03:09, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3rr Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Christina Aguilera discography. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Hello. This is a reply to your comment on my talk page. If you had explained on the talk page, then you should have warned the editor on his talk page instead of madly reverting his edits. You didn't even give him a chance to explain his edits. You broke the three-revert rule and I am going to follow policy and report the incident on the relevant noticeboard. Thank you. Hello. This is a reply to your comment on my talk page. I would like to clarify to you that I never said you would get blocked. I just said that I would report the incident. By responding in the manner you did, you violated WP:CIVIL and WP:AGF. If you are not willing to accept other editor's changes and assuming bad faith, then you most definitely have to be reported. Thank you. Yours truly, BoricuaeddieTalkContribsSpread the love! 00:32, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello. Just a heads up. I've reported you to the admins here. Thank you. Yours truly, BoricuaeddieTalkContribsSpread the love! 01:10, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Please be aware that continuously reverting other editors contributions is not an acceptable behavior in Wikipedia. If you continue to do so, you may loose your editing privileges. Please reconsider your further contributions to Wikipedia in this light. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 20:18, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I'm Not Dead

Adding the alleged "missing" 7.5% to the Media Traffic figure is original research, because the 7.5% figure is an estimation that could vary from album to album (depending on how well each sells in the regions covered/not covered by Media Traffic). Original research is not allowed. Also, nobody on ukmix.org or wherever seem to have said how they know or where they read that Media Traffic only covers 92.5% of worldwide album sales. Thanks. [edit] License tagging for Image:Baby uk2 cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Baby uk2 cover.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image:KMChocolate.jpg

I have tagged Image:KMChocolate.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. [edit] Britney Spears discography - input needed

You recently have contributed to article talk page regarding Album Sales. In an attempt to resolve this conflict, we have opened up a simple place to help sort this out at: Talk:Britney Spears discography#Album_Sales. This is an attempt to find a consensus regarding reliable and accurate sources. Currently only two people have contributed to this list, and I would hate for you to miss out on chipping in your two cents. The rules are simple.... Simply enter in the source you consider a reliable source of figures for the album sales. The other fine print is on the talk page. With your help, I hope we can end this debate -- if only for a short while. :) Thanks again, Tiggerjay 00:48, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Britney Spears Number one singles

Hello. Please do not remove that last column in the number one singles table as it shows that "...Baby One More Time" reached number one in 7 charts/countries, "(You Drive Me) Crazy" reached number one in 1 chart/country, "Born To Make You Happy" reached number one in 2 charts/countries, an so forth. The last column is a nice addition to the table and should not be removed. Thanks. Oidia (talk) 03:15, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

The "total" figure down the bottom of the table is not as relevant as the "total" figure along the right hand column. According to the table, it says Britney has 1 number one in the US, 5 number one in the UK, etc...
As the title of the section suggests Number one singles, it's more important to highlight "how many countries did a particular single reached number one." It is not that important to mention "How many number one did Britney Spears has in country". So the "total" figure down in the bottom row should be removed. "Total" along the right column should stay. Oidia (talk) 07:40, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Content removal in Britney Spears

With the "Foxnews" reference in that article, I've spent a fair amount of time looking for it. I would appreciate it if you leave an explanation in the Edit summary or in the article's talk page as to why you removed it. Recently the article was nominated for FA and no one has an objection towards the worldwide sales figures of albums, nor did anyone have a problem with the FOXNews site as a source. So if you couldn't provide a reasonable explaination to its removal, I will be reinstating those information and sources. Oops!...I did it again (talk) 09:41, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Light Years.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Light Years.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:10, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Britney Spears help

Kraft. on in the main article for Britney Spears, user OIDIA, believes that reviews of the album, Blackout, should be contained in the Return to Music section of the article. There are many mixed reviews, as shown on the dedicated page for the album itself. This user seems to want to push only two positive reviews instead of the negative ones. I suggested keeping the reviews on the album's page, rather than the main article for her, but they just don't agree, so I was hoping that you'd weigh in here. The reviews are long, and the two this user keep posting are extremely elaborate about how "wonderful" the album is. If we were to put another review, a negative one, it would take up even more room. For the longest time, no reviews were posted in the main article, only on the main "Blackout" page. Please give your opinion on the matter. 23:01, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Britney Spears Disography

Please do not remove the IRE market and the EUR. I can see why you think IRE is a small market, but do not remove EUR because it counts for all countries in EUR.68.195.4.188 (talk) 20:15, 17 January 2008 (UTC) rm41194
