[edit] Welcome

Welcome to my talk page! I'm not very good with html or computer languages so you'll have to put up with the simple layout.

[edit] About Me

I am a second generation Korean-American and a college student. I studied for two years as a Biomedical Engineering major, changed to English Literature, but I changed again and I am currently a History Major with a Writing Minor. I was originally considering a Japanese minor also, but I didn't want to take the culture courses so I gave up on it. I would also like to do a Korean minor, but my college doesn't offer it... I would like to pursue a graduate degree in History with an emphasis on East Asia... not sure where to specialize beyond that. Maybe the Meiji Restoration period?

[edit] Interests

I am very interested in Literature, International Politics, East Asian History, Linguistics, Visual Culture, Religion, Music (listening, playing, and theory), Macroeconomics, Philosophy - especially Metaphysics and Epistemology - Psychology, and many other subjects. I have modest interest in the sciences and math. (Former Biomedical Engineer). I am a rabid polymath and bibliophile.

[edit] About Translation

I am happy to do JPN → ENG translation requests, as long as I have some free time -- just leave a message.
For KRN → ENG translation, as long as the source material is up to middle school reading level, I could probably help...
My 한문 vocab is pretty decent from studying Japanese (~1500字以上), so hanja is probably not a problem (sometimes the difference between traditional and shinjitai throws me off though).
