Konongo is a city located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The city serves as the administrative capital of the Asante Akim North District. Konogo is about 33 miles from Kumasi, the regional capital. Ghanian international footballer Sulley Muntari was born and raised in the city.

Konongo was a gold mining town. The underground mining shafts have not been used for a long time.
