Kherbet Rouha is a town in the Rashaya District of Lebanon. It lies in the Beqaa Valley, about 10 kilometres (6 mi) northwest of Mount Hermon. The town is known for its Sunni Muslim conservatism and also for the largest mosque tower in Lebanon (100 metres (328 ft) in height). People from Kherbet Rouha have emigrated to many points in the world, chiefly Canada and Brazil. In Canada most families originating from Kherbet Rouha are represented in Lac La Biche, Alberta, where they have been present since the 1900s. During the 2006 Lebanon War, the town was hit by many bombs from Israel.
