Khaplu

Khaplu (35° 10' 0 N, 76° 19' 60 E, altitude 2,560m) is the capital town of the Ghangche District of northern Pakistan. Lying 103 km (64 miles) east of Skardu town, it was the second-largest kingdom in old Baltistan. It guarded the trade route to Ladakh along the Shyok River.
surmo is one of the important region of Ghanche. It is of significant strategic importance.
Surmo is the junction of churbut, khaplu and mashabrrum velleys of ghanche. The population of Surmo valley is 600 houses and spread across a wide area of the district. the largest and tallest bridge of the Northern areas situated in this region and connected to Siachen and Churbut regions.
Saling the most important and beautiful place of Whole District Ghanche the Largest Forest plantation of Baltistan and the Cricket Stadium with side a beautiful Lake, and also you can find there fruit nursery in the central of Ghanche and many more................

In spite of these fact and figures this valley is very old population of Baltistan. In Surmo one can find trees over 150 years old and cultural symbols of earlier history.

—– Chhurbat is very important Part of the Distt Ganche River Shyouk is coming form the Chhurbat side.In the Churbat there are many historical places Such as "Apo Khar" & "Kache Khar" in Siksa Village and a amazing place in the chwowar called "DONG DONG" Water is coming between the two montains which is un believeable sence.In Siksa, there are also a wonderful water channel from Chhorbat Nala is seeking for its completion. This is big water project in Chhobat since last 27 years. Shortage of fund this project yet not complete and seek for fund to complete it.
