KGEC-LP (KGEC-TV on the air) Channel 26 (known as FamilyTV 26) is a FamilyNet television affiliate based in Redding, California. It was founded by Fresno, California, businessman George E. Cooper in 1997 and became an America One network affiliate in January of 1998 before changing its affiliation in July of 2000. Cooper, whose initials are the station's call letters, serves as its chief executive officer and his wife, Millie Cooper, is the station's president. FamilyTV 26 is seen on UHF (low-power) channel 26 from Redding south and is on Charter Cable Channel 15 in the Redding and Red Bluff areas only.
KGEC provides family-friendly programs from FamilyNet and is the only television station in the Redding / Chico market to locally broadcast Bonanza,Roy Rogers and The Andy Griffith Show. They also air a block of outdoor programming called Saturday Sportsman, airing from 11:30am to 5:00pm.
