Kevin Simm (born Kevin Ian Simm, 5 September 1980, Chorley, Lancashire, England) is a pop singer with the group, Liberty X.
[edit] Professional career
Simm attended Leyland St. Mary's Catholic Technology College during 1991-1996, where he showed promise as a junior footballer. However, Simm decided he preferred a musical career and joined a local indie band called AnAlien and started writing his own material. While he was singing in the band, his aunt secretly applied for him to go on the ITV talent show, Stars in Their Eyes. He went to the auditions and got through, appearing on the show as Simon Fowler of Ocean Colour Scene.
After working for several years as a professional singer on the northern pubs and clubs circuit, and spending a summer season in a band (Force 5) with James Fox, he auditioned for the ITV reality TV show Popstars.
Simm narrowly failed to get in the winning group, and so joined the 'losers' group Liberty X. They subsequently went on to gain success, including a UK number one single before splitting in July 2007. In 2006 took part in the Channel 4 reality TV show, The Games, in which he received a silver medal.
Also in 2006, he re-visited his old high school as a guest of honour at their annual prize day.
Simm has since July 2007 when Liberty X announced their split, been searching for a solo record deal however it is thought that as of yet he has not signed one. He can now be found living near Luton, he enjoys spendng his spare time at AMF with his two best friends, Carl 'Sheep' Martin and Lee Fowers. He once got 3 strikes in a row.
