Ketiva ve-chatima tovah

Ketiva ve-chatima tovah is a longer greeting on Rosh Hashanah. The Hebrew translates as "May You Be Written and Sealed for a Good Year". The Greeting is used because Jews are being judged by God for the coming year. Shana Tova (pronounced [ˈʃana ˈtova]) is the traditional greeting meaning, "A Good Year," An alternative is, Shana Tova Umetukah for "A Good and Sweet Year."
