Some KV schools, especially in North India, are lacking in standards. But, KV schools in South India offer high quality education comparable to private schools.

[edit] KV Schools

This section contained many school names without links to websites, which I have removed. Considering that there are hundreds of KV schools, adding all the names to the page would become unwieldy and not encyclopedic. So only names of schools with valid links is maintained. Please don't add names without valid links to this section.

[edit] Please don't ramble in the main article

Hi. Everyone is welcome to edit the article in any way they deem fit. However, please don't deface the article in the process. Someone has expressed their opinion in the main article ... I'm moving it below, as a part of the talk page. I've studied in a KV too, for twelve whole years, and loved it. I AGREE WITH everything written below, but that means we should maintain the article's quality. -- Regards, Amit 18:17, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Moved to here from main article

Actually what is said in this article is actually a baseless rumour. I am a student of Kendriya Vidyalya and no where I have seen what is said in this article about the discrepancies present in the schooling system of KVs. Anyone can go to the CBSE site and check that KVs have better result than other private schools. KVs have such a vibrant culture, here there is an opportunity for all round development. they have most numbers in NDA alumni, IIT alumni, and they are present all over the world doing a wonderful job and making us proud that we were a part of that great institution KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA.

Actually these allegations mentioned above are baseless. I have studied in the school for nearly ten years in my life and never had experienced any humilliating behaviours towards disabled student. I have a strong bonding towards the school .There is a special warmth connected to the KV's. Studying in the school has proved a stepping stone to my success. And as for as the results KV are still performing better than other public school and is improving year by year.No one has even heard about the schools which boast about there supermacy over KV schools but almost every Indian has atleast heard about KV. KV is the place for opurtunity seekers especially in the sports area with regional and national level sports competition being held more and more oppurtunities are being created for rising sportsperson.

Studying in a KV gives you the opportunity of being with students who have different religious beliefs, speak different languages and come from varied economic backgrounds. Moreover, a KV can be situated in any nook and corner of India, be it Port Blair, Jammu, Tanga or Gandhinagar. It could be situated in the centre of a big city or it may be in the outskirts of a small town. It teaches you right from the childhood how to deal with various aspects of India's culture. KV in itself is unity in diversity. This means that almost all students passing out from KV are very level-headed due to this upbringing.

[edit] Education in Lucknow

Will someone please tell me what the "Education in Lucknow" box is doing in an article on KVs? --Amit 05:23, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm going to remove it now. Amit 16:48, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong Hindi font

The portion in Hindi font in the article is all buggered. It appears someone who didn't have Indic fonts installed has typed (or "corrected") it. Needs to be fixed. Amit 11:38, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

I have corrected it now. If you see it wrongly now, you should check your OS's support of Indic fonts; or check at another site like BBC Hindi to see if your system shows indic fonts correctly; don't revert this as I have verified it to be the correct form. Thanks. Amit@Talk 16:02, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tone

Thanks for additions to the Applause section, whoever did it. While the paragraph is more comprehensive now and is well written, it reads a bit like an essay entry or a personal reflection. Hope someone wil get around to fixing the article and writing it an encyclopaedic style :-| Amit@Talk 11:19, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kvlogo.jpg

Image:Kvlogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
