KBPS is a high school radio broadcast station run by Benson Polytechnic High School students enrolled in the radio broadcasting program. From 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., Kid Rhythm Radio provides kid-friendly music. After 3 p.m., the students can come in and play music more suited for them courtesy of the Teen Sound program. KBPS currently runs oldies from 2 a.m. until 8 a.m. Monday through Friday and weekends from 2 a.m. until noon.
After 5pm, Portland State University rents out the 1450 AM frequency for their college radio station, which broadcasts from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. on weekdays and from noon to 2 a.m. on the weekends.
KBPS-AM broadcasts in AM Stereo.
