KBNO (1280 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Denver, Colorado, USA, it serves the Colorado Springs area. The station is currently owned by Latino Communications.
In September 1999, Zee Ferrufino sold KBNO-AM to Crawford Broadcasting, which changed the call letters. In late 2000, Ferrufino's company, Latino Communications, bought station KVOD from Clear Channel for a reported $3.3 million. Ferrufino renamed the station, to KBNO, said that he planned to rehire numerous former KBNO personalities to play what he called "Mexican regional music," among other styles.[1]
