Katja Decker-Sadowski was born Katherine Marie Decker-Sadowski on July 6, 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri. She is the daughter of Denise Decker and Peter Sadowski, and has a sibling named Rachel. She graduated from Bolles High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 2006 after earning two national championships as well as state titles (2004, 2005). She currently plays tennis at the University of Southern California.

Outside of college tennis circles, she is most recently famous for being engaged to reality-tv star Jason Wahler (who previously dated Lauren Conrad). She appeared on an episode of the show's third season, which showcased Jason and Katja's engagement party- thrown by mutual friends.
