Kasaniya or Kasania (कासणिया) is a gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, India. They are descendants of Krishna. The Krishna vanshi people in Sanskrit were called Karshney and Karshniya which became Kasaniya. These Krishna vanshi people, Kasaniya, in China were known as Kushan or Yuezhi.
According to Thakur Deshraj, the gotra of Jats of the Siwalik Hills and of the lower reaches of Lake Manasarowar left these areas after the war of Mahabharata, migrating to Uttar Kuru. Some of them settled in Punjab in the area known as Yadu ki Dung, some settled in Kashmir, and the rest moved far north up to Siberia.
