Karabad (Persian: كَر آباد with variants گَر آباد and كَرّ آباد; also Romanized as Karābād, Karrāwa, Karrābād, and Garābād) as is a village in Kordestan, Iran. It is in the west of the country.
It has long been a center for cattle herders. More recently oil has been discovered in the area, and many businesses have been attracted. This has had a benficial effect on the local economy.
