KALI-FM is a Vietnamese language station licensed to Santa Ana, California, USA at 106.3 FM. It is a sister station to KVNR 1480AM.
While KVNR airs news and information, KALI airs musical and entertainment shows. In addition to Vietnamese, the station also broadcasts a Japanese talk show during the weekday mornings until 9:00am.
For years, this station had various Christian formats as KYMS. At one point, it was known as "Spirit 106" with the slogan "jamming for the Lamb," the Lamb being one of the nicknames for Jesus Christ. As such, it was a contemporary Christian music station; in that sense it was a predecessor to the current "95.9 The Fish," KFSH.
However, ownership could not make KYMS work financially,[citation needed] and the station was sold to new owners who changed both the format and language of the programming.
