Kafr el-Dawwar

Kafr el-Dawwar (Arabic: كفر الدوار ) is a major industrial town on the Nile Delta in northern Egypt. It is considered one of the most populous towns in this area; about 1,000,000.[citation needed]

The residents work in textile companies, which are the main industrial activity. Misr for Weaving and Spinning in Kafr el-Dawwar is the largest company in the town. It has one of the biggest local textile companies even as large as the one in El-Mahalla El-Kubra. Four more large companies in the town for paint and silk fibers and chemicals. Agriculture is a major activity for the countryside that surrounds the industrial town.

The stream of Mahmodya goes through Kafr El Dawar north to Alexandria. ترعة المحموديه And it is one of the river Nile branches which is the source of irrigation.

Kafr El Dawar, like many other towns in Egypt, has a city hall which is called the city counsel. It takes care of the town issues related to building permits and zoning.
